We encourage both schools and families to schedule a time to come by the fire station to learn about fire safety. This may be especially helpful to young children. Seeing a firefighter in full gear can initially be a frightening experience. We believe it would be extremely beneficial for children to have positive interactions with firefighters in a safe learning environment. This will be helpful in case of a real emergency as children will be more likely to trust the rescuers.
